History:
During the Geneva Motor Show in March 2002, VIN# ...7001 as the first CC8s production car manufactured by Koenigsegg was introduced to the public. 007001-CC8S was used as a company development car and started its existence as a CC8S, received several upgrades with the result to be now considered a CCR. 007001-CC8S broke the World Speed Record on the high speed text track (Nardo Ring) in Nardo, Italy, which was held for seven years by a McLaren F1. Before breaking the world speed record, 007001-CC8S received additional interior fittings such as a roll cage, 4-point safety harness safety belts, race seats and a fire extinguishing system and a fire extinguisher in the passenger compartment.

Exterior Look:
Red is the colour for the car paint of the first produced supercar of Koenigsegg, a CC8S model: 007001-CC8S. Changes took place over the years because this specific model was also constructed for development purposes. In the early years of its existence, a black wing was placed at the rear end of 007001-CC8S, later dismantled. The car model CCR that followed the CC8S is based on upgrades that were done to 007001-CC8S. The front view of 007001-CC8S was used for many cars of the CCR model which followed the CC8S model. The front view did not change for some years.

Other Details:
Already mentioned in the category history, 007001-CC8S was upgraded later to a CCR model. As CCR model 007001-CC8S (007001-CCR) broke a world speed Record in Nardo, Italy and obtained an entry into the well-known and famous book Guinness Of World Records. This Koenigsegg broke quite a number of speed records on the famous and challenging Nürburgring racetrack in Germany. One of the records , among other records, documented a top speed at 313 km/h, and was very close to beat the lap record for usual production cars at a time of 7:34 minutes, inspite of a freezing temperature of minus three degrees Celsius at the time of measurings which did not reflect at all the best climate conditions for such a challenge. A total of six CC8Ss were built between 2002 and 2003.

Interior Fittings:
007001-CC8S received a two-colour interior in black and grey. At a later stage the interior fittings were upgraded and completed with a 4-point safety harness seat belts, a roll cage and a fire extinguishing system.

Performance Upgrade:
An engine with 4,7 liter and 8 cylinder was fitted into 007001-CC8S which was the first basis of many following and upgraded engines. 007001-CC8S is the prototype and development car of Koenigsegg. All changes of engines to be installed into the CC8S model and also some following models result from this original CC8S engine, its developments as well as future engineenering. In the begining of this engine two separate mufflers were integrated into the V8 engine which is a good characteristic to differentiate the very first CC8Ss and CCRs, next to other details of course. Later manufactured CC8Ss can be recognized by a cover which was placed on top of both mufflers. With such a cover, two mufflers look like one big muffler. The suspension springs are painted in yellow and are the standard suspension springs. In later CC8S and following models a stiffer suspension is installed. If the suspension is changed the colour of the springs are also changed. 007001-CC8S was actually upgraded several times - please also check with the categories History and Other details!
