History:
007012-CCGT was manufactured for the FIA GT1 racing series even though Koenigsegg did not have much of experience after having started only in 1996. All other producers of cars respectively racing cars - propably except Lamborghini - had experience for decades before the first racing car participated in races such as FIA GT1. Surely the goal was also to draw attention to the new brand of supercars. Koenigsegg worked since 2005 or maybe even since 2002 on the racing project. Finally at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show 007012-CCGT was presented to the public next to 007036-CCX and 007038-CCXR. Very shortly before 007012-CCGT's clearance to participate in the FIA GT1 races, the rules were changed: at least for 350 units of cars had to be built for public sales. At that time Koenigsegg had barely cars for public sales and therefore was not accepted. The racing project car still exists and often appeares a Koenigsegg at days the race track is closed for official races. The car was on auction at the Festival of Speed Auction presented by Bonhams dd. 14th of July 2023 and sold for £3,319,000 .

Exterior Look:
007012-CCGT received a car paint in white and banners with Koenigsegg on the upper part of the windscreen and on the rear spoiler. The design and styling meets the special demands of a racing design. The doors open unlike other Koenigseggs like a regular car which provides better escape possibilities in case of an accident. Various additional NACA ducts and vents next to the standard ones are installed on 007012-CCGT: leading from the rear wheels are NACA ducts which are set below the standard side intakes; above the front wheels are wing-top vents; two recessed vents on either side behind front wheels. Between the lower and upper side vents a Koenigsegg crest emblem in full colour, matching the badge seen on the nose of 007012-CCGT. A bare low-profile carbon air intake is mounted behind the roof of the car and diffusors also in carbon fiber protrudes below the exhausts. 007012-CCGT has distinctive twin fuel filler points behind the right side window, with spring-loaded covers in place of removable caps for quicker access while refuelling during a competition. Fitted with five-spoke Dymag® hollow-spoke Mg-GT-wheels. 00712-CCGT can be identified easier by looking at the rear and front bumpers where CCGT is painted on. On the spoiler of the CC is painted in black and GT in red colour.

Other Details:
007012-CCGT's weight is very light and below 1000 kg. FIA regulation require a minimum weight of 1100 kg while racing. Therefore another 100 kg had to be added and ballast weight was positioned into the car giving 007012-CCGT a perfect performance which meant even a handling advantage towards heavier vehicles. 007012-CCGT has worn some names of sponsers however never really participated in official racings. Most of the names of sponsors appeared on the doors or lower flanks, bonnet, wing and mirrows. Only in 2011 a full-length side name of "Hydrolift" was foiled on 007012-CCGT. "Hydrolift" is a Norwegian company who builds powerboats. Bard Eker - the owner of "Hydrolift" - also owns a Koenigsegg which is 007086-Agera R. Next to Loris Bicocchi and Christian von Koenigsegg, Bard Eker was also a test driver of 007012-CCGT.

Interior Fittings:
Minimalism is the design philosophy of Koenigsegg for all cars and of course a racing car takes this philosophy another step beyond. 00712-CCGT`s interior is in plain black and so is the single racing seat for the driver. In order to maximize protection for the driver a tubular-frame roll cage is fitted. Very few and only the necessary controls for the driver and essential safety features, like the onboard fire extinguisher are fitted into 007012-CCGT.
