Agera (2010-2018)

The Agera is the successor of the models CCX and CCXR and started its career in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show.

The same year the car magazine Top Gear named the Agera the “HYPERCAR OF THE YEAR”.

Even more hypercar are the coming Ageravariations Agera R, Agera S and Agera RS. Each variation with more power, more performance.

Koenigsegg® developed their own 5.0-liter-V8 engine with twin-turbochargers generating enormous power which replaced the previous 4.7-liter-V8 with fixed-van-twin-turbo chargers and succeeded tremendously well with the new motor, resulting in a world record with a GPS-verified average top speed of 447 km/h - 278 mph as well as a fastest straight-line speed of 458km/h - 285 mph in 2017.

The very low weights of the original Koenigsegg® in-house-developed engine (197 kg-434 lb) and transmission (81 kg-179 lb) were achieved by special developments using carbon fibre inlet manifold and aluminium construction for the motor and the first dual-clutch one-input-shaft transmission with paddle shift.

Top level of safety and lowest possible weight for highest performance is not a contradiction for Koenigsegg® and accomplished by the interaction of a carbon fibre aluminium honeycomb for the chassis in which the fuel tank is integrated and a car body which is manufactured with pre-impregnated carbon fibre/Kevlar™ together with very light weight sandwich reinforcements.

The Koenigsegg® Dynamically Active Rear Wing™ is electronically adjustable depending on driving conditions and to minimize the compromise between low drag and downforce.

Forged aluminium wheels with a centre locking system with 19-inch front and 20-inchrear rims allow speeds above 400 km/h – circa 248 mph on Michelin® Super Sport tyres, developed in cooperation between Koenigsegg® and Michelin®.

A Koenigsegg® Traction Control System™,uniquely engineered front and rear suspension with electronically adjustable ride height are some indicators of high safety standards.

Agera Performances: 0-100 km/h - 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds and 0-200 km/h – 0-124 mph in 8.0 seconds with a top speed of 400 km/hand 249 mph.
