CCR (2004-2006)

Koenigsegg® manufactured 14 units from 2004 to 2006 of the CCR which is the successor of the: CC8S

Most of thein-house-developments from the CC8S were maintained and/or improved for the manufacturing of the new „record-Koenigsegg®“ achieving at the Nardó test track in Italy a top speed of more than 388 km/h as fastest production car on February 28, 2005, beating the 8 year old record set by the inspirational Mclaren F1.

In-house-developments from the CC8S - with steady improvements of the Koenigsegg® engineering team -like the pre-impregnated carbon fiber/Kevlar™ used for the chassis, semi-monocoque and all body parts and panels, Venturi tunnels, diffusers and the vertical opening dihydral-synchro-helix Koenigsegg® doors™ are continued with the CCR model and beyond.

Some, surely not all, but known improvements:

-      larger cross-drilled brakes (and larger tyres) power-assisted by a Koenigsegg® Advanced Control System™

-      the Koenigsegg® suspensions™ received an upgrade to achieve even better results for the handling characteristics

-      the Koenigsegg® Rear Spoiler™ from the CC8S model is replaced by a Koenigsegg® Rear Wing™

-      the CCR model received a larger front splitter and together with the new rear wing, the downforce was improved and optimised

-      very important improvements because the engine was upgraded into a 4.7-liter-V8-twin-Rotrex®-Supercharger. The strong Ford® Modular engine is now offering 806 hp at 6900 rpm; 920 Nm (679 lb-ft) of torque at 5700 rpm.

-      the 6-speed manual transmission which was developed by CIMA® for the CC8S works also in the CCR

-      Magnesium alloy wheels with a center locking system with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear rims with Michelin® Pilot Sport 2 tyres were mounted and allowinga top speed of the CCR at (theoretical) 395 km/h – 245 mph and an acceleration0-100 km/h – 0-62 mph under 3.2 seconds. Standing ¼ Mile – 402 meters in 11.2 seconds with a speed at 224 km/h –139 mph.

There are two CCR later tuned editions:

CCR Revo and EDO Competition CCR Evolution.

CCR Revo was finished with a CCX rear diffuser, side skirts and CCXR-front-splitter, CCXR-wheels, CCXR-twin-deck-F1-rear-spoiler, engine and engine management system and supercharger, as well as a different car paint and a different interior.

In 2011 the German based tuning company EDO Competition upgraded the CCR: CCX-11-spoke-wheels, Top Gear Rear Spoiler together with front splitter and side skirts from 2008. Major upgrades of the engine with remarkable results in speed and acceleration. New infotainment and reversing camera. Different car paint, different colour of the wheels as well as a different interior.
