CCXR (2008-2010)

The CCX (2006-2010) is the origin and inception of the CCXR, which was presented to the public the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008.

We prefer not to repeat the details already presented in the description of the CCX and therefore we would like to ask the kind reader to refer also to the model information of the: CCX

9 CCXRs were manufactured from 2008 - 2010 by Koenigsegg® with the idea to improve the engine of the CCX which already complies to the strict environmental regulations of the state of California, U.S.A. with regard to the usage of a more environmentally friendly gasoline E85 and E100 ethanol fuels as well as the standard gasoline with 98 octanes. Koenigsegg® succeeded perfectly by installing modified the fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines and piston rings and a higher boost set-up on the superchargers.

When running on ethanol an increase up to 1032 PS (1018 hp; 759 kW) at 7000 rpm and 1060 Nm (782 lb-ft)of torque at 5600 rpm. The chemical properties of ethanol in combination with the new Koenigsegg® engine producing more boost, lead to quite some increase of power.

The car body was partly overhauled resulting in re-optimized aerodynamics: 350 kg – 772 lb of downforceat 250 km/h – 155 mph are achieved by a lower chassis made of bare carbon, stiffer springs, new dampers, a unique rear wing, larger front splitter with side winglets and aluminium wheels.

Also the CCXR engine was upgraded to a 4.8-Liter-Twin-Supercharged-V8-Koenigsegg®-motorand offers 888 hp (900 PS; 662 kW) at 7000 rpm on normal gasoline and 940 Nm (693 lb-ft) of torque at 5500 rpm.

The CCXR is reaching a top speed above 400km/h – 249 mph.

Two more CCXRs were manufactured as CCXR SpecialEdition and can be easily differentiated from the CCXR Edition by the double Formula 1 rear wing. Also, a largerfront splitter with side winglets, wheel ventilation respectively air-intakes on all fenders are special exterior features of the CCXR Special Edition. An interior special feature is the first Koenigsegg® Formular 1 paddleshift system.
